Nurse in Jaffrey nursing home accused of taking meds intended for patient

Thursday, December 20, 2007

KEENE, N.H. (AP) _ A nursing home nurse from Vermont is accused in New Hampshire of taking narcotics that had been prescribed for a resident.

Stephanie Wood Brattleboro has been indicted on one charge of unlawfully possessing a controlled drug and attempted abuse of a resident.

The Cheshire County indictment charges that Wood, while working as a nurse at the Good Shepherd Nursing Center in Jaffrey, took at least 11 narcotic pills that were prescribed for a resident. The indictments allege she tampered with the resident’s medicine by replacing the narcotics with over-the-counter pain relievers that were not prescribed for the resident.
