A fiery motorcycle crash left one man seriously injured and another arrested and charged with drunken driving.

The accident occurred at 12:56 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of routes 3 and 104.

According to the Meredith Police Department, a 1985 Chevrolet Fleetside pickup truck driven by 23-year-old Zachary Luken of Raymond was traveling north on Daniel Webster Highway. The truck turned onto Route 104 and collided with a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 26-year-old Jonathan Venturini of Manchester.

According to police, the motorcycle burst into flames after the collision. Officer Philip McLaughlin was on the scene within seconds of the collision and put out the fire.

Venturini suffered multiple serious injuries and his passenger, 29-year-old Tabitha Denapoli, suffered head and facial injuries, authorities say. Both were transported to Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia.

Venturini later was airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon where a hospital representative said she was not able to provide information on his status.

Luken and his passenger, 21-year-old Tiffany Dodier, were uninjured.

Following further investigation at the scene, police arrested Luken and charged him with driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs.

The Belknap County Accident Reconstruction Team assisted with the investigation as did the Center Harbor Police Department.

The accident remains under investigation.
