George Gianoulis
BELMONT — George Gianoulis, 66, of Belmont, died in Bradenton, Fla., on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, with family by his side after suffering a massive stroke.
He was born to the late John and Helen Gianoulis, June 10, 1945, in Lowell, Mass. George graduated from Lowell High School in 1965 and later studied drafting at Massachusetts Trade Shops in Boston.
He married Kathleen (Hurley) Gianoulis in 1972, and they lived together in Tyngsborough, Mass., before relocating to Belmont in 1977.
George was self-employed in the flooring business until 1982. He then started a career with the US Postal Service, working as a window clerk in Laconia. He retired in 2005.
George was an active member of the Laconia Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He loved travel and baseball.
George is survived by one daughter, Gina Donegan of Groton; a sister, Cleopatra Diskes of Peabody, Mass.; and a brother, William Gianoulis of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Wells, Maine; along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews throughout New England.
No funeral services are scheduled at this time, though there will be a memorial in the early spring. Friends and family will be notified at that time, or inquiries may be made by emailing gdonegan@yahoo.com.
