Thomas Charles Lemire


LEMIRE LEMIRE AUSTIN, Texas — Thomas Charles “Tom” Lemire, 60, a long-time resident of Austin, died of a sudden illness on Saturday, March 3, 2012, in Beeville while participating in a Boy Scout event.

Tom was born in Franklin, N.H., on May 15, 1951, son of the late Benoit J. Lemire and Beatrice L. (Beaulieu) Lemire.

Tom was a graduate of Franklin (N.H.) High School, Class of 1969, and the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Tom was previously employed by Dell Computer Corporation as a quality engineer. In the past decade, he pursued a new career as a licensed massage therapist, owned Healing Touch Therapies and, most recently, TC Massage. Massage Envy in Austin also employed him.

Tom was a lifelong Boy Scout, earning the rank of Eagle at the age of 13. He was active in scouting in Texas, earning many adult awards and most recently founded BSA Troop 877 in Austin where he served as Scoutmaster.

Tom was predeceased by his father, Ben, daughter Sarah Rachel (2008), and nephew Jason Thomas Elliott (1987).

He is survived by Stacey Lemire of Austin and his son, Joshua Lemire; his mother, Beatrice Lemire of Franklin, N.H.; sisters Judy Elliott and husband Gary of Salisbury, N.H., Nancy Guimond and husband Ray of Franklin, N.H., and Janet Lemire of Pembroke, N.H.; brothers David Lemire of Franklin, N.H., and John and his wife, Terri, of Franklin, N.H.; nephews Derek Lemire and Peter Elliott; niece Tiffany Lemire; an uncle; and numerous aunts and cousins.

There was a memorial service on March 9 in Austin at the Unity Church of the Hills.

Arrangements are being made for a memorial service in Franklin, N.H., on Sunday, May 6, at 1 p.m. at Odell Park.
