The Citizen prints obituaries as written, aside from minor editing for spelling and grammar. Obituaries from families and distant funeral homes must be prepaid during regular business hours so they must be received by 4 p.m. to appear in the following day’s paper. Those submitted by funeral homes in good standing may be submitted as late as 8 p.m. and still appear in the next day’s edition.
