Marie Louise Nelson


NELSON NELSON BARRINGTON — Marie Louise Nelson, 55, of Barrington, died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, July 5, 2012.

She was born in 1956 in Woodbury, N.J. In 1966, at the age of 10, she moved with her family to New Hampshire, which she called home until her death.

She was a graduate of

Plymouth State College in

1980.

She is the daughter of

June W. (Metcalf) Nelson of

Barrington and the late

Richard W. Nelson Sr.

Marie was a kind, generous, compassionate, and loving person, and loved watching movies and picking flowers and blackberries from her gardens. She was also an exceptional artist. Her creative genes shined through this past June as she organized her mother’s 80th birthday celebration.

Marie loved her family and enjoyed all family activities including boating on Lake Winnipesaukee, camping at Sebago Lake State Park in Maine, and playing with her dog, Blazer. Her love for family and helping others shined through in her family business at Quest Martial Arts Academy, LLC, in Barrington, where she earned the esteemed rank of 2nd Degree Black Belt and was instrumental to Quest’s children’s program development over the 17 years of her employment. She most recently served as the school’s program director.

Marie is survived by her younger siblings, Richard W. Nelson Jr., and his wife, Brenda F. Nelson, of Gilford, David W. Nelson and Lynda D. Nelson of Barrington, and Derek S. Nelson of Dover; and her nephew, Ryan W. Nelson, and niece Lindsey F. Nelson of Gilford.
