Lawrence C. Rowell, 71, of

Franklin died at the Merrimack County Nursing

Home in Boscawen on

July 9, 2012.

Mr. Rowell was born in

Franklin on Jan. 31, 1941, the son of Carlson and

Reba (Savage) Rowell. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin and a graduate of Franklin High School, Class of 1959.

Mr. Rowell was employed for 27 years at Allied Leather in Penacook and later for 16 years at Watts Regulator until retiring.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He especially loved the time spent fishing with his granddaughter, Kaitlin.

Mr. Rowell was a member and past president of Andover Fish and Game. He was a longtime and exclusive New York Yankees fan.

Family members include his wife of 52 years, Cecile (Morrell) Rowell of Franklin; two daughters, Lyn A. Rowell of Chichester and Stacey Daitch and her husband, Hiram, of Northfield; a grandchild, Kaitlin Bardellini; his father, Carlson I. Rowell of Franklin; a sister, Carla Deitsch, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother, brother Wayne, and sister Janet Morrell.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
