Josephine N. Meinke
MEINKE RALEIGH, N.C. — Josephine N. Meinke passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at her daughter’s home in Raleigh where she resided for the past year. She previously resided in Moultonborough, N.H.
She was born Feb. 16, 1926, in Chelsea, Mass., to the late Frank and Nancy (Cambria) Serio.
She married her late husband, Clayton, in 1943, and they raised their family in Oak Harbor, Ohio.
Jo loved to sing and was an active choir member of
St. Charles Catholic
Church in Meredith, N.H.
She is survived by her daughters, Denise Franchi, and her husband, Richard, of Raleigh and Linda Gruner and her husband, Norman, of Moultonborough, N.H.; her son, William Meinke, and his wife, Phyllis, of Belmont, N.H.; her grandchildren, Charles Smarkel and Cindy of Shrewsbury, Mass., Andrew Gruner and his wife, Tara, of Concord, N.H., Billy Franchi and his wife, Daryll, of Tampa, Fla., Amanda Gruner of Moultonborough, N.H., and Katherine and Michael Franchi of Raleigh; great-grandchildren Matthew and Caitlin Smarkel; and greatgreat grandchild Jecenia. She also is survived by her sister, Concetta McQuaid of Wakefield, Mass., and her brother, Frank Serio, of Lynnfield, Mass.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clayton; her daughter, Nancy; and her brother, Richard Serio.
A funeral mass with burial will be held on Friday, July 20, in Oak Harbor, Ohio.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date at St. Charles Church in Meredith, N.H.
